JUMBO IN THE STUDIO
So, what was it like to be recording in the Palace of Nobility? Here we were, anxiously waiting for the commands of our producer and engineer, all the time realizing that the space we were occupying had been sanctified by the likes of Bob Dylan, Fleetwood Mac, Grateful Dead, Neil Young, The Allman Brothers, Johnny Cash...and the list goes on. Oh, we shouldn't forget Charles Manson. Yes, you read that right! This wasn't some Mickey Mouse studio it was the Big Time. "Hey, did you see who just came in the studio? That looked like...No shit, that was him." Music royalty was floating in and out...what a sight! But what would the engineer think of us? This guy had recorded some of the biggest names in the biz. After a while, all of our anxieties dissipated and we got down to business...it was Jumbo Time. |
